Naomi Etzion works in the Planning and Development division at NOGA, the Israeli Independent System Operator (ISO). She worked at the Israel Electric Corporation for more than 30 years until NOGA was established by the Israeli government in 2020.
Etzion’s fields of expertise include power system dynamics, transient phenomena studies, and power system stability and survivability. In this role, she also analyzes system resilience after multiple component outages that could cause extensive regional blackouts, using advanced computational methods.
Etzion is involved in preparing the Israeli system for the massive absorption of renewable energy projects. In this context, she participates in defining the requirements that will ensure the continuity and survivability of the future electric supply.By leading the resilience team in the planning division, she is responsible for planning the electrical system to withstand diverse events that could widely affect it.
Etzion holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, both from the Technion, Haifa, Israel.
