
Director of the Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies Policy Dep., Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel
Amir Sagie has served as the Director of the Cybersecurity and EDT Policy Department within the Strategic Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) for the past four years. Before this, he held the role of Chief of Staff and Senior Diplomatic Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to his current appointments, Sagie served as Deputy Consul General in New York, Israel’s largest diplomatic mission, where he coordinated the political efforts of the Consulate across five North-Eastern and Mid-Atlantic states. He also maintained regular contact with experts involved in key foreign policy and strategic issues at think tanks and universities in the region.
Earlier in his career, Sagie directed the Civil Society Affairs Department at the MFA, was the Deputy Director of the Arms Control and Disarmament Policy Department, managed the MFA’s online infrastructure, and supervised the China, Korea, and Mongolia desk. His diplomatic postings also include serving in Israeli missions in Beijing, China, and Lisbon, Portugal.
Sagie holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and two M.A. degrees in Political Science from Tel Aviv University and Haifa University, graduating with honors. He also completed the MABAL program at Israel's National Security College.
