Mr. Mahaveer Singhvi was appointed to the Indian Foreign Service (the diplomatic service of India) in 1999. Since then he has served in several important assignments in the Ministry of External Affairs, including as Joint Secretary (New, Emerging and Strategic Technologies), Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism), Joint Secretary (Central Europe), Director (SAARC, BIMSTEC and Border Connectivity), Director (East and Southern Africa), Director (Latin America and Caribbean), Director (Multilateral Economic Relations), Deputy Secretary (Technical Cooperation), and more.
Mr. Singhvi has also represented India on several international forums during his various assignments in the diplomatic service. He is a regular speaker on diverse subjects at various national and international conferences, seminars, and summits. He was educated and trained at some of the world’s best institutions including the University of Oxford, UK, IIM, Ahmadabad, LBSNAA, Mussoorie, the ICAI, and University of Delhi, Rajasthan and Jodhpur. His qualifications include LL.B., ACA, ACS, ICWA, MBA, MBF, and M.St. (Oxford) and B.Com (Hons).
Mr. Singhvi has been bestowed with several laurels and accolades including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s CA Achiever in Public Services and Business Leader in a Government Department Award and the prestigious British Chevening Fellowship to pursue Foreign Service Programme (FSP) at the University of Oxford where he secured an Overall Distinction, an achievement described as “rare and laudable” by the University in a letter to the Government of India. He also secured the University Gold Medal on his Graduation and the Rajasthan Board Gold Medal for securing first rank among all the students in the 12th Board Examination. Mr. Singhvi has also been honoured twice by the Governor of Rajasthan for his academic excellence.
