President, Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Germany
Claudia Plattner assumed the role of President at the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) on July 1, 2023. Born in Mainz in 1973, Plattner has over 20 years of experience in IT roles across various companies and institutions. Most recently, she served as the Director General for Information Systems at the European Central Bank. Before this, she held a senior position as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at DB Systel GmbH, the internal IT service provider of Deutsche Bahn.
Plattner holds a degree in mathematics from TU Darmstadt and a master’s degree in applied mathematics from Tulane University (USA).
