Andres Sutt

Andres Sutt was born on 11 November 1967. He is married and a father of three children.

Employment history and career

  • From 2019 –2021, he was a member of the 14th Riigikogu, a member of the Finance Committee, and a member of the Anti-Corruption Select Committee.
  • From 2017–2018, he was the Director of Regulatory Relations and a Member of the Management Board at Eesti Energia, as well as the Head of Customer Services.
  • From 2013–2016, he was the Head of the Banking Division of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM).
  • From 2012–2013, he was the Senior Adviser to the Executive Director of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF).
  • From 2009–2012, he was the Senior Adviser to the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Nordic-Baltic Constituency and a Member of the Board of Directors.
  • From 2001–2009, he was the Vice President at Eesti Pank.
  • From 1999–2001, he was the Adviser to the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Nordic-Baltic Constituency.
  • From 1992–1999, he was the Chief Specialist of the Central Bank Policy Department, the Deputy Head of the Banking Supervision Authority, and the Deputy Head of the Central Bank Policy Department at Eesti Pank.

Education

Andres Sutt graduated from the University of Tartu in 1993 with a degree in finance and credit; from INSEAD in 2008 in the Advanced Management Program, and from Harvard Law School in 2015 in the field of Negotiations and Leadership.

His mother tongue is Estonian, but he is also fluent in English, Russian, Finnish, and speaks French on basic level.
